Shingle Recycling

Florida Waste Recycling Center Workshop

Join us for an in depth look at how the leading edge technologies used by Florida Recycling Centers is making a difference.
• Approximately 11 million tons of “tear off” shingles are sent to landfills resulting in the waste
of over 22 million barrels of oil annually.
• Over 325 million tons of construction and demolition debris are added to our landfill sites
every year.
• The Florida legislature of 2008 created the “Energy, Climate Change, and Economic Security Act”
establishing a state wide goal of 75% waste recycling by 2020.
The Florida Recycling Centers was created to ensure the above issues are addressed. These sites will incorporate a Shingle Processing Unit and Construction and Demolition Debris separator. The Florida Recycling Centers will leverage unique patented processes to recycle hundreds of thousands of tons of waste per year. It is our intent to have multiple centers in Florida to serve as model sites for a national recycling solution.
